Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has received a significant update, version 1.005, bringing new features to both PlayStation 5 and PC players. The system includes options to grant unlimited HP and MP, cap damage dealt at 9,999 for combat and minigames, and provide the maximum quantity for most inventory items.

Enhanced Progression Options

Alongside the streamlined combat and item management, the update adds a 'New Game - Head Start' option. This allows players to jump into a subsequent playthrough with their party already at level 65, out of the maximum 70, and equipped with several enhanced materia. These new features are customizable and can be toggled on or off within the game's options menu at any time, offering flexibility for players to adjust their experience.

Technical Improvements and New Platforms

For PC players, this update brings support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling technology. FSR aims to provide more stable and detailed image processing, potentially improving performance and visual fidelity. The PC version of the update is reported to be approximately 71GB in size.

This update arrives as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is also launching on new platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, and the Microsoft Store for Windows. This broadens the game's availability significantly.
